We wanted to give you a friendly reminder about safety. Here are a few tips:
Always use BLUEOXY as directed on the label, and never mix it with any other cleaning products or chemicals. To ensure accuracy, use a dedicated measuring cup for BLUEOXY, not one for food and drinks. After using BLUEOXY, ensure any surfaces are dehydrated before allowing children in the vicinity. Additionally, pregnant or immunocompromised individuals are advised to wear a dust mask while cleaning the litter box to avoid inhaling litter dust.
Do you want to ensure your cat’s litter box is appropriately clean and odor-free? Here are some steps to clean, sanitize, and deodorize it!
Before cleaning your litter box, it’s best to mix some Blueoxy concentrate to make a pet odor-eliminating spray solution. This will help eliminate any unpleasant odors from the litter and keep the litter box clean and sanitized. Alternatively, you can grab some pre-mixed Blueoxy Cat Litter Tray Deodorizer spray 500 ml and get the job done in no time.
Firstly, give the litter box a good clean!
It’s time to get the litter box cleaned up! Take out any debris accumulated at the bottom or on the walls. Cat litter can be a real clogger, and it’s essential to remove all the traces before you empty the contents into a sink or bathtub.
Grab warm water and mild soap (like dish soap) and pour it into your sink or tub with the litter box. Use a scrubbing brush or sponge to clean the outside and inside of the box. This is also an excellent opportunity to spruce up your cat’s litter scoop and plastic mats. Once each part has been scrubbed and cleaned, drain all the soapy water away. After that, thoroughly rinse with plain tap water, ensuring you’ve removed all the soap.
Allow the litter box to air dry completely; you can use some fresh paper towels to help it.
The second step is to clean the litter box. Be sure to keep your kitty’s litter box fresh and sanitized!
Once the litter box is dry, please give it a good spritz of Blueoxy solution, covering all its inner and outer surfaces. If you have already washed the litter box scooper, you can use the Blueoxy spray to sanitize it. Remember to give the rugged plastic litter mats a good Blueoxy bouquet for sanitation purposes.
Give the Blueoxy solution some time to do its thing and sanitize your surfaces – let it sit for 60 seconds. Afterward, wipe everything down with paper towels until the litter box is nice and dry. Once all is done, you can refill it with some new litter.
Step 3 of your litter box maintenance routine: Deodorize! Make sure your kitty’s litter box is fresh and odor-free by deodorizing it regularly.
To help keep your home smelling fresh between litter box cleanings, use our Blueoxy pet odor remover solution spray on your litter. Before doing so, make sure to remove all pets from the area. A couple of sprays should do the trick! Avoid soaking the trash with the solution. If you’d like, use a litter scoop to mix the spray and litter to ensure that the Blueoxy is in contact with as many particles as possible. Once you’re all done, give it some time to dry completely.
Should I try baking soda?
Using baking soda in a litter may not be ideal for reducing litter box odors. It may make the cat’s urine smell more potent because baking soda is an alkaline cleaner with a high pH level. When the dry powder dissolves in the litter, it causes an increase in the pH level, making the ammonia smell of cat urine more noticeable. Other DIY pet cleaners are available, but we suggest using what we recommend.
